Meeting Kyle & Nicky via a Skype video call let me know from the get-go that we would be a perfect couple-photographer fit. Their love for adventure and quirky sense of humor matched my own, and we quickly started feeling like old friends.
During this meeting we established that they love going on outdoor adventures, they both have a deep love for animals, and they most certainly are morning people. Armed with this knowledge, I set out to search for 3 shoot locations for them to choose from.
Irene dairy farm offered the best of all worlds for Nicky & Kyle’s shoot. Beautifully manicured lawns, country roads, farm house buildings, and just a little dribble of city life in the backdrop of the landscape. Boasting cute little calves, stunningly healthy cows, a couple of loose running roosters and hens, swans in the pond, monkeys clambering the trees, and ducklings being lead by their mommy ducks, Irene dairy farm is a much loved family outing destination.
I met up with Kyle and Nicky at 6:30am so we could start shooting by 7am. The early morning light is magical, casting a magnificent soft, golden hue to the photos. This gorgeous light also adds to the romantic mood in Kyle and Nicky’s photos.
You see, Kyle and Nicky got engaged not too long ago, and they wanted to have me capture some engagement photos too. The magical lighting paired with the picturesque setting of the farm made for fairytale-like photos, some even with including wondrous light leaks and sun flares to add to this romantic story shoot.
Nicky and Kyle are so in-sync with each other. They have a deep understanding of one another which blindingly shines through their interactions with one another.
Wishing you two a very happy engagement, and more so, a happy, prosperous, super joyous marriage.
Oh, to be young and in love
